Phil Tate Memorial Scholarship
The Phil Tate Memorial Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Phil Tate, a dedicated public servant and economic development leader whose career was defined by creating opportunity and strengthening communities across Missouri. Phil served as Director of Job Creation for Kirksville Regional Economic Development, Inc. (K-REDI), where he worked alongside civic leaders, educators and business partners to attract new industry and support job growth in Kirksville and the surrounding region. His work was rooted in collaboration and a deep belief that strong economies create stronger communities. This scholarship was established to continue his legacy by supporting those who share his commitment to leadership, service and community impact.
Missouri Northeast Scholarship Application For Economic Development Training
Missouri Northeast is committed to strengthening local and regional economic development by supporting the professional growth of economic development professionals. To help offset the cost of training, Missouri Northeast is offering scholarships of up to $225 to cover eligible registration fees for approved training opportunities. Eligible programs include, but are not limited to:
- Missouri Certified Economic Developer (MoCED) training
- Heartland Economic Development Course (EDC)
- Leadership Northeast
- Other trainings deemed appropriate by the Missouri Northeast Scholarship Review Committee
Scholarship Details:
- Award Amount: Up to $225 toward registration fees
- Eligible Applicants: Economic development professionals working within the Missouri Northeast region
- Eligible Uses: Registration costs only (travel, lodging, and meals are not covered)
- Selection: Applications will be reviewed by the Missouri Northeast Scholarship Review Committee
